Research: Learning Is No Spectator Sport — Campus Technology

MOOCs that rely primarily on people watching lectures may be missing an opportunity to help their students learn even more by adding interactive activities. Recent research into massive open online courses suggests that students do six times better in the course by “extra doing.” On top of that, they’re more likely to persist in the course.

Northwestern offers “Sex 101” program to combat sexual misconduct

The free Massive Open Online Course, or MOOC ,is being launched next Monday in Chicago particularly for Northwestern first-year students to teach them about their sexual and reproductive health. But the information is open to any student, anywhere at any time.
